The Butcher is a Building available upon researching the Knowledge Animal capture. It has the ability to butcher captured animals, producing a combination of Meat, Leather and Wool depending on the animal butchered. The amount of Meat produced is equal for any butchered animal, but Leather and Wool quantities differ (see Animals).

Any captured animal kept in a Paddock is available to be butchered. To produce more animals (outside of capturing animals with armies) Animal breeding must be researched and a Cattle farm built.
