Culture points represent the customs and behaviors that set two nations peoples' apart.

Culture points are automatically unlocked by the Culture produced by cities. Each culture point requires a specific amount of culture to unlock, which increases each time a culture point is unlocked. Producing a higher amount of culture per Porco in every city allows for faster culture point accumulation for a nation.

Culture points are used to unlock production of certain Resources, unlock consumption of all consumer resources and services, and improve production of all resources and services in Buildings.

Culture points may sometimes be required to research Knowledge. Culture points used in this way will only be consumed if the research is successful and will be used to unlock production or consumption of a resource, as specified by the research screen. Note that many knowledges do not unlock both production and consumption, so it may be necessary to manually do so after research.

The amount of culture that is used to produce culture points is

(Total Culture Production / Total Population) * 1000

In order to maximize culture point production it is important to maximize Porco life quality by meeting as many needs as well as possible. Porcos that live in slums or can't afford to fully meet their needs are less effective at producing culture for culture points. For this reason, unemployed Porcos should be kept at a minimum and the population should be kept at a number that minimizes unemployment.


Each level of culture requires more culture than the previous level. The following table shows the required amount of culture to reach each level.

Resource and Service Production[edit | edit source]

Culture points can be used to unlock production of various resources. For example, researching Agriculture allows for planting crops in Gathering camp buildings, but each crop needs to be unlocked by using a culture point. Other knowledges, such as Herbalism, may unlock a building, like the Doctor (Building), but those buildings will not be able to produce anything until production is unlocked by using a culture point. Other knowledges may require a culture point to begin research, but unlock production of a resource upon successful completion (and refund the culture point upon failure). Knowledges that consume culture points will show whether they unlock production or consumption of a resource, or both.

Resource and Service Consumption[edit | edit source]

Culture points can be used to unlock consumption of various consumer goods and services. These are largely used to fulfill needs. A culture point can be used to unlock consumption of a resource as long as that resource is available in storage in any city. Some knowledges may require a culture point to begin research, but unlock consumption of a resource upon successful completion (and refund the culture point upon failure). Knowledges that consume culture points will show whether they unlock production or consumption of a resource, or both.

Production improvement[edit | edit source]

Culture points can be used to improve production of all Resources. Up to additional 4 culture points can be added to any resource to improve production. Resources that are gathered from natural resources will provide additional Efficiency for buildings that gather them, and gather an increased amount of resources, while resources that are produced by consuming other resources will improve efficiency and consume less resources.

Natural resource improvement:

20% building efficiency per point, 10% extra resources gathered from natural resources per point

Produced resource improvement:

20% building efficiency per point, -10% resources consumed per resource created per point

Ore to bar resource improvement:

20% building efficiency per point, -5% resources consumed per resource created per point

Revoking Culture Points[edit | edit source]

Culture points that were spent in any way can be regained by revoking spent points from the culture point menu. Revoking a culture point takes 48 hours and only a single culture point can be revoked at a time.
