Fisherpigs are an early-settle gathering building that can harvest Fish from up to 1 School of Fish tile within its radius. Since Fish can only be harvested from natural sources, they're primarily valued for providing food diversity (which boosts Life Quality) rather than their contribution to the Tier 1 population need for Food.

When building Fisherpigs, all School of Fish tiles in your territory will be marked with a waypoint to help with placement. In cases where a they spawn too far away from land, Wooden Platforms can be used as rudimentary docks to bring your Fisherpigs within range. However, these only become available in later eras.

Each upgrade for Fisherpigs allows them to harvest more Fish for the settlement, so it's strongly recommended to do them as soon as the technology becomes available. For similar reasons, you should also avoid building Fish Marketstands (with Barter) since they have a negative impact on Fisherpig output. Fish Merchants can be used to sell the same goods for no penalty.
