Flint is collected by the Flint collector.
Flint can be collected from gravel, gravelly sand and gravelly ground
Flint is used in the early game to make Hoes and Hammers.
Flint usualy becomes obsolete after Copper and or Bronze age, but flint can allways be used to make hammers and hoes if you are tight on copper,bronze, iron and or steel. The maximumgather rate of a Flint collector is about 2.8 flints per tick. This is enough to sustain a workshop creating Hoes and or Hammers.
