Gift economy is an Economic Policy. It is researched and enacted by default at the start of the game.
It represents a mode of exchange where valuables are not traded or sold, but rather given without an explicit agreement for immediate or future rewards.
Gift economy is the initial economic policy of the game and allows for total state control over goods and automatic good distribution to Porcos without requiring buildings. Gift economy is a powerful policy but the lowered Efficiency and massively increased population conflict make it unsustainable in the long term.
Effects of Gift Economy
- enables automatic distribution (resources are distributed without the need for distributors)
- -20% Building efficiency
- -70% Population stress
- +150% population conflict
