An outpost is a Territorial Status that can be assigned to a territory. Outposts are unlocked by the Territorial Control knowledge.

Unlike a colony, an outpost is permanently owned by its ruler, and can not be used as a spawn location for new players joining the server. However, outposts have a very high risk of revolt even at relatively low populations. Buildings built in outposts are also extremely expensive to maintain.

Features:

  • No administration distance penalty.
  • Has an upkeep of 5 State Power
  • State culture -50%.
  • Population conflict +400%.
  • Loyalty +75.
  • No Tax Income.
  • Cannot own sub-territories.
  • -20 loyalty event on changing.
  • Cannot overdraft.
  • +3 buildings upkeep (does not apply to infrastructure, like walls, nor ground storages, nor houses).

Avoiding Revolt:

  • Even -1 State Culture/+1 Local Culture will slowly result in a revolt.
  • Ensure that you've added a forum/tavern to the outpost.
  • Ensure that you're adding guard towers to the outpost.
  • Only allow the population to grow if it means staying positive with State Culture, and higher than 30 Loyalty.
