An outpost is a Territorial Status that can be assigned to a territory. Outposts are unlocked by the Territorial Control knowledge.
Unlike a colony, an outpost is permanently owned by its ruler, and can not be used as a spawn location for new players joining the server. However, outposts have a very high risk of revolt even at relatively low populations. Buildings built in outposts are also extremely expensive to maintain.
