Wealth is the result of productive work and time.

An amphora has wealth because it is the result of a miner collecting clay for an hour, a woodcutter gathering wood and converting it to charcoal, and a potter building it for 6 hours from these materials: the sum of this collective work and time constitutes the wealth of the Amphora.

In Ymir, for the convenience of the simulation, it is an absolute and objective unit as opposed to the subjective valuation of things by societies through money.

Territory Wealth[]

Wealth in a territory can come from 2 things: the value of productive work being currently done in the territory and the wealth value of goods currently stored in the territory.

Population Wealth level[]

Each social class in a territory possesses a Wealth level, which determines the overall purchasing power of each individual member of that class.

  • A Porco with a Wealth level of 2 can purchase fill at 100% its needs for goods priced at 2 monnies or less.
  • A Porco with a Wealth level of 2 can purchase fill at 50% its needs for goods priced at 4 monnies.
  • A Porco with a Wealth level of 2 can purchase fill at 25% its needs for goods priced at 8 monnies.
